Jess Cartner-Morley’s recent interview with Comme des Garcons founder Rei Kawakubo was described by a friend as ‘toe-curling’. Most interviews with her are, as they’re done via translator (her husband Adrian Joffe), and she’s a begrudging interviewee at the best of times. But there are always gems to take away. This one’s a reminder that creativity has to be true to you and you have to take risks, even if you think you will fail or make a fool of yourself.
