London Fashion Week AW11: Day 6 highlights
Topman Design’s too-short trousers and furry-collar coating
Sibling’s pub-themed presentation ‘Darn The Boozer’, featuring knitted tattoo emblems and a short film by Willem Jaspert and Stephen Langmais shot in Sibling’s local, The George & Dragon
Mr Porter’s snazzy bikes all over the shop
It’s out! Spotted the new Karlheinz Weinberger book in the (quite excellent) Rizzoli bookshop at Somerset House. Bought.
After lunching with the charming Vikram Kansara at Dover Street Market’s Rose Bakery, I spent most of the afternoon ‘taking’ tea at Claridges with 00o00 for the launch of Bally’s second Central St Martin’s collaboration. Bally’s Michael Herz talked me through MA student Craig Green’s shoes which mix materials like felt, suede, cork and leather in inventive yet wearable ways. Love these black leather straps on grey felt. Menswear creative director Graeme Fidler also revealed the high tech archiving system at Bally which sounds very ‘Cher-from-Clueless’ and would go down rather well at DRG HQ…
