London Fashion Week ss12 Day 3 Highlights

First things first. A beautiful Natalie Rich-Fernandez Hermes scarf and Charbonnel & Walkers from D for my birthday. Plus the Margaret Howell schoolgirl trench that received a ton of compliments…

Cerulean shirting and skirting at Margaret Howell and on the hot waiters at Acne

Everything at Maragret Howell from the dotty shirts to the jaunty neck scarves to the red lip stains to the Beach Boys soundtrack

Adventures in denim at Fashion East. Shredded at Marques’Almeida:  pastel hued, raw-edged suiting at Maarten van der Horst. Plus Hanna Hanra’s rousing soundtrack

Experiments with textures and layers of transparency at Simone Rocha. White lace + clear plastic + electric shocks of green tulle, offset with an emerald eye (by my mate Shinobu at CLM) and a mohican

Topshop did something really clever with their space, configuring it so the photographers and bloggers were opposite each other, giving us equally good vantage points. The models came out right next to my seat gifting me a close-up view of Topshop’s gilded 90s club-kids

A meet-and-greet with 20 of Brazil’s biggest bloggers including a recreation of the Issa show make-up, hosted by Kay Montano, Daniela Helaiyel and Ferraz Fashion (alas, my photos were SO bad, they’re unpublishable)

Susie Bubble hosted a presentation by Fred Butler in which Fred made everything herself including little hats for the Sonos speakers. Susie simulaneously (kind of) published Fred’s film on her blog as the Portico room swarmed with bloggers, fashion press and a rainbow of psyedelically-attired guests

Moroccan inspiration at Acne which manifested itself in sharp colours (orange, tan, turquoise, pink) and sports-couture tailoring in techno fabrics

Harper’s Bazaar’s party for Glenda Bailey was a suitably glam, airkissy affair at the Savile Club in Brook Street with Henry Holland banging out the cheesy pop, while The Gentlewoman’s party for its new issue attracted Dalston’s finest with Princess Julia, Sibling’s Cozette McCreery (in Sister by Sibling SS12 naturally) and Pippa Brooks taking turns on DJ duty…
