Haute joaillerie, Hermes at Harrods and a little Dior whimsy
This week is all about couture but did you know that alongside the gowns, there’s also the haute joaillerie to be wowed by? Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Boucheron, Chanel and the rest all showcase their top-tier diamonds, pearls and rubies; quite frankly, the frocks are small fry compared to this finery.
Not heading to Place Vendôme? I recommend a visit to Harrods instead, where you can see the recently opened Hermes fine jewellery and watch boutique – its first ever standalone high jewellery store.
This is where you can gawp at some of Hermes’ finest creations and even try on the £32K diamond-dusted Medor watch (I did). Look out for Pierre Hardy’s exclusive horse’s head Galop bracelet, the diamond-set tourbillon version of the bestselling Arceau watch and the famous Kelly bag realised as a dainty chain mail necklace…
Meanwhile, not quite high jewellery, but still rather fine is Dior’s TELL ME DIOR collection of zodiac pendants. You know I’m a not-so-secret astrology fiend, so it’s instant love with these whimsical beauties. At €390 euros, they’re almost a steal… Available only from Dior stores…

I love them, but the horse one is a bit over the top for me.
