What fashion editors really wear: J&M Davidson AW18

J&M Davidson AW18

Here’s a secret: fashion editors don’t really wear logo-tastic Off-White and XXXL Vetements day-to-day. When it’s not Fashion Week, they’re either on shoots, at their desk or on appointments so they wear anonymous, functional separates, very much like this.

This is the AW18 J&M Davidson collection – bag-heavy, coat-heavy, trouser-heavy and impeccably cut to suit anyone and everyone. When I was a junior fashion editor back in the day, I coveted a J&M Davidson tote so badly. These grained leather totes may look Celine-lite but actually, J&M Davidson fans have been carrying bags like this since the 1990s.

Ditto the comfortably-proportioned coats and simple knits. Always rooted in an understated modernism, these are the sorts of clothes that don’t really date, so you can wear them for years and make them your own.
