SS17 trend report: Peasant tops
Peasanty-Victoriana wear is about to get a massive uptick in attention thanks to Sofia Coppola’s The Beguiled. I love this look. I had a French Connection Swiss dot Victoriana peasant top a few years ago that I loved but was always just that bit too small for me. I could never find a replacement so when something like this becomes a trend, it’s great because it means there are so many more options out there for you to get your hands on. (I never understand why people slag off trends, they are great for this reason. Consider… white jeans.)
There are quite a few high-collared peasant tops in the sales, especially from the likes of Chloe and Atlantique Ascoli, which is handy as they’re otherwise quite expensive. But you can also find similar from Gap, & Other Stories, Toast and See by Chloe. I’m not generally a lace-lover but I would definitely wear this See by Chloe number – dressed down with denim and boyish shoes of course…
