Buy it now: Rodin cleansing powder
Linda Rodin’s new Olio Lusso Facial Cleansing Powder takes me right back to The Body Shop’s Japanese Washing Grains and Viennese Chalk Grains. Both those products were 80s cult classics that you’d mix with water to cleanse and soften the face. It all felt faintly exotic to a London teen used to using synthetic cleansing milk on a cotton wool ball. Dermalogica’s Daily Microfoliant is similarly nostalgia-inducing. It’s an extremely fine rice-based enzyme powder that turns into a creamy paste when you add water. It’s mild enough to use every day, is scent-free and leaves your skin feeling marble-smooth. (Buy it HERE.)
The Rodin powder is the more glamorous version. It won’t remove make-up, but it cleanses and exfoliates with a a blend of rice bran and sea algae, fragranced with the signature Olio Lusso jasmine and neroli scent. You can control the exfoliation by varying how much water you use. Buy it HERE (UK) and HERE (US).

Viennese Chalk! I think that was the best facial product I’ve ever used. I was SO bummed when they stopped making it.
