Margaret Howell SS19
I didn’t go to that many London Fashion Week shows this season. Unless you’re writing daily roundups, there’s really no reason to attend back to back shows when you can watch most of them on Instagram Stories. The exception is super-dramatic shows (Ashley Williams and Burberry sound like they had the best music) and shows where I’m personally invested in the brand.
Margaret Howell ticks that box for me in the mode of a couture client mentally ticking off the pieces I’m going to order. Yes, to the olive trench that opened the show, another yes to the waist length bomber jacket (part of an upcoming Fred Perry collaboration), and a ‘hell yeah!’ to the roomy drill utility pants with extra-deep pockets.
The Margaret Howell show always has the best street style opps as well. The mix of all-ages showgoers, plus the Japanese contingent (immaculately decked in navy and black) offer a wealth of everyday styling inspo to steal post-show. I’m still waiting for some examples to show up online. When they materialise, I’ll post them below.
