Comme Des Garcons X Hermes unveils ‘Comme des Carrés’ scarves (plus hats and gloves are coming)
I don’t know why people are so surprised at the Comme Des Garcons X Hermès scarf collab, I think it’s perfectly sensible. What could be a better marriage than the traditional French scarf brand and the bonkers anti-fashion rebel? Both are 100% true to themselves for sure.
The Comme Des Carrés collection comes in two parts, with the ‘Black and White’ collection available in Comme des Garcons stores in Paris (6th Feb), New York (7th Feb) and Tokyo (8th Feb), and the Ginza Dover Street Market store (also 8th Feb). The busier ‘Colour’ scarves will be available from Dover Street Market in London (12th Feb) and Tokyo. Is that clear as mud? If you want the ‘Black and White’ collection but live in London, you’ll have to wait until April 1st when it arrives online at Doverstreetmarket.com. The ‘Colour’ collection will be available online earlier, on 6th Feb.
I find myself drawn more to the graphic black and white prints than the playful, colourful ones, although my favourite is this red and black chain print edged in gingham (above). There are rumours of gloves and hats as well but I haven’t seen those pictures yet. What do you think about Comme des Carrés? Are you excited, or are you all collabed out?
