Buy it now: Chanel’s Christmas beauty classics
While some beauty bloggers might be underwhelmed by Chanel’s Christmas make-up offer, I’m the opposite. I’m all about the classics so all these goodies are useful as well as beautiful.
Nail polish-wise, the standout is Rouge Rubis (£18) a cheery Coca-Cola red with a hint of pink. For lips there’s Rouge Allure in Radieuse (a peachy neutral) and Rouge Allure Velvet in La Desiree (a deep burgundy – not my thing) or La Precieuse (a classic red to match the nail polish – I’m in!). All the lipsticks are £25.
For eyes it’s all about wearable glamour and the hero of the piece is the limited edition Ombres Matelassees De Chanel palette in Charming (£48). With five shades of beige, bronze and plum shadows, the magic is in the satin and irridescent formulations that can be blended at will. This is probably my dream palette – I find bronzy, bruisy shades much more flattering for a smoky eye than dark greys or black. Even better, the Longwear Luminous Eyeshadow pots (£24) also come in wearable bronze (called ‘Initiation’) and violet plum (called ‘Fatal’) with Chanel’s trademark eye-brightening iridescent finish.
So there you go, these colours are all very much for life, not just for Christmas so I think they’re worth the outlay. They’ve just landed on counter and online.
