Ah at last, the mad but highly irresistible banana print separates from Topshop are now online. I shot the skirt (£38) a while ago on Andrea from Union Models and we all cooed over its cheeky wit. It comes in a thick denimy cotton which means it’s equally suited to black opaque tights and boots as jelly sandals and ankle socks.

The jacket (£60) is a really great biker shape in the same fabric. As it’s not leather, it’s much lighter and easier to throw on and make your own. Wear it with sleeves rolled up, tied round your waist, cape-style over the shoulders… however you like. Even doubled with the skirt, should one shouty separate not be enough…

In other bonkers fruit news, Bompass & Parr have collaborated with Kit Neale on a project with Kew Gardens. Neale is outfitting the staff of ‘architectural foodsmiths’ Bompas & Parr’s ‘Tutti Frutti’ installation at Kew Gardens from now until 1st September. Bompas & Parr’s gigantic fruit salad installation will be one of the highlights of Kew Gardens’ summer festival, ‘IncrEdibles’, which highlights edible plants. Staff will be unmissable in  fruit-print shirts and jeans, inspired by images from the Kew archives. As far as I know though, the outfits aren’t for public consumption…
