Three new spring discoveries to share.
I’ve yet to try B Sides jeans but I think now may be the time to make it happen. The new collection features two relaxed-fit styles designed to look like you’ve had them for years. Fey (above) in Leo dark sun fade is a straight-cut, slightly loose-thigh jean with a long rise, while Elissa (inspired by stylist Elissa Santisi) in Klein (below) is a wide-leg, slouchy fit that also sits on the natural waist. Buy here and here. Both styles are 100% cotton and made in the USA.
If you’re more of a dark denim girl, I’ve got you! I just bought two of these Levi’s Made & Crafted Column jeans (currently £84) to replace my previous Made & Crafted dark jeans which – ahem – don’t seem to fit the way they used to. These are high-waisted, slightly balloon-legged and in the 27-inch length, a great summer ankle crop (I’m 5’ 2” and give them a three-quarter inch turn-up). Again, I like the length of the rise and the denim is fairly old-school rigid indigo despite the 2% elastane. Size availability seems a bit low but hopefully they’ll get topped up.
To go with, I recently discovered these summer smock tops by Sideline at Couverture & the Garbstore* (below). Designer Ellen Brookes specialises in woven indigo fabrics like this cornflower blue Essie shirt*, while the white embroidered cotton-linen Vivi top* (below) and tan Wednesday shirt* have a similar improves-with-age, coastal-Gen-X-mom vibe that I’m into.
