Bergamot Girl Summer – continued
News just in: there’s a new bergamot beauty line just dropped and it’s perfectly timed for this latest heatwave. At the risk of becoming a bergamot bore, I can’t not discuss Perfumer H’s four-piece hand and body collection*. In short, it’s a shower wash, hand wash, soap bar and body lotion. Perfumer H does citrus fragrances impeccably; not too sharp and always with a softer, sweeter note to offset the freshness.
The shower gel is particularly refreshing for an end-of-day cool shower. The bergamot opener has a delicious, almost tomato leaf green note, balanced with petitgrain, Sicilian lemon, juniper wood, tonka and lavender. In keeping with Perfumer H’s luxury positioning, the bottles are huge – 500ml each for the handwash (£55), shower wash (£55) and body lotion (£80) – in signature weighty smoked glass.
I think a smaller, travel size could definitely be added to the mix, but the gentle glycerine soap bar (£25, below) is a possible travel substitute. In keeping with the Perfumer H ‘ritualistic’ philosophy, there’s also a rather lovely hand or body ‘bathing bundle’* (top) that would make the ideal host or hostess gift.
