The editors’ exodus

Leandra Medine Manrepeller By Hunter Gatti

Phew, the list of media founders and editors ‘stepping down’ in the wake of racist misconduct gets longer by the hour.

This week we saw Leandra Medine ‘step back’ from Man Repeller, Refinery29 editor in chief Christene Barberich step down from the company she co-founded, Stephen Gan parting ways with Elle, and Condé Nast VP of video Matt Duckor exit the company. Hopefully this will make way for fresh new energy and a more positive future.

In related news, while he sidestepped the issue of bad behaviour at Condé Nast, Graydon Carter’s recent podcast interview on Business of Fashion is still worth your attention. The former Vanity Fair editor dishes on how he was responsible for identifying President Trump’s tiny hands, his thoughts on the new magazine landscape, and his learning curve setting up his digital newsletter, Air Mail.
