Sale picks: classic buys under £500
Sad but true, I don’t get excited about sales like I used to. Does anybody? I think we’re so used to discounts all year round that we take them when we find them. The end of year sales are a good time to look for staples though, especially if you have Christmas money burning a hole in your pocket. I usually put Christmas money towards a good coat, knit or bag I’ve been eyeing; I’m definitely more of a winter sale person than summer.
Anyway, in the spirit of buying better, here are some sale staples I think are worth a look. This Mackintosh puffer* is excellent – super-warm and lightweight (I bought it in black) and I have a version of this coat* as well. If you’re petite, Mackintosh is always good option for coats. Expensive jeans are another thing I target in the sales, especially in elusive white and ecru. I’ve spotted a few Slvrlake Denim jeans with 40% off here* (remember I wrote about them here?). Chloe’s Rylee boots are a no-brainer – 40% off here* – and I know I personally would wear these well into the 2030s…
Beauty-wise, there are a few bargains to be had from Nars and Shiseido*, and I know a lot of people swear by the Nuface facial toning device, so if you’ve been considering it, Feelunique has one at 20% off here. [UPDATE: It’s now 40% off]. On the accessory front, tan bags are my, er bag, and these are the non-shouty ones I think are worth investing in. Everyone went gaga for Bottega this year, but I’m more of a Jil Sander girl. This Jil Sander phone pouch* is a tad gimmicky and yet, a useful gimmick, I think!
