The culture of fashion: Seberg style
Top of the watch list, if only for the hair and ‘fashions’. No seriously, Seberg, a thriller based on actress and civil rights supporter Jean Seberg’s persecution by the F.B.I looks like it’s worth a watch and if nothing else, will bring her name to a new generation of style seekers.
Jean Seberg was a major garconne style icon for me in the 90s and everything about the cult Jean-Luc Godard film, Breathless (*cough* not least co-star JP Belmondo) is beyond cool. But just for starters, the gamine hair, the eyewear, the boyfriend shirt, the sauntering down the Champs Elysées in the Herald Tribune tee are all great Seberg style signifiers.
Jean Seberg had a short life, coming to a sad demise at 40 following the F.B.I character assassination. Seberg the film is released in the UK on 10th January. You can read more here.

Jean-Luc Godard’s “A Bout de Souffle” (Breathless) and also “Bande a Part” are two of my favourite “style” movies. So, like you, I am eager to see how the Seberg movie turns out.

I try not to read reviews before I see a film, but a couple of reviews I’ve seen so far praise the style, casting and acting but say the storytelling is weak. Let me know if you see it!
