Fuzzy feet
Warm feet. You couldn’t ask for two more happy-making words than these, as far as I’m concerned. Although I was never an Ugg girl, I can’t deny they’re super-practical and style-wise they’ve come a long way. (That said, the men’s offer is way better than the women’s.) But currently on my radar are the never-ending varieties of apres-ski boot from Italian brand, Montelliana. These handcrafted mountain boots have fur or shearling linings and a rugged look without being overtly utilitarian. Why would you pay hundreds when these beauties will do the trick at around £250?
If you do want a label though, Jimmy Choo, Prada and Tabitha Simmons have all dipped a toe in the hiking boot trend. And Tod’s’ are very smart with their high shine finish and regimental red laces. On the high street, I can’t quite explain what I like about these cartoony, bulbous snow boots from & Other Stories. There’s something very comforting about them though…! To up the cosy factory, you need equally insulating socks. Cashmere is expensive, and Prada’s argyle numbers are a bit unsubstantial, in which case, these & Other Stories wool-blend jacquards are the next best thing. Just add Hanros or HeatTech and let the weather do its worst…

I find the wearing Ugg boots outside the home baffling, here they are worn as slippers in the house. I like Sorel brand boots for proper cold weather

Exactly Amanda! I’ve never worn Sorel, but if they’re good enough for Aerin Lauder…
