FNO Secret tees: they’re here!

Vogue Fashion’s Night Out is almost upon us and I said I’d give you the final low down on my Secret Tees project with Harvey Nichols. Well ta-da… here it is! I asked Sophy Robson, Dr Noki, Bip Ling, Quentin Jones, David David, Fred Butler and Yang Du to create a one-off T-shirt to be auctioned by Harvey Nichols for FNO, with all proceeds going to Kids Company. SECRET TEES: Disneyrollergirl and Harvey Nichols for Vogue’s Fashion’s Night Out

Pinch me now! Vogue’s Fashion’s Night out is fast approaching and I’ve managed to wangle a wee project with Harvey Nichols. I’ve rallied some of my favourite fashion creatives to design/print/customise a one-off tee to be showcased at FNO on September 8th, then auctioned on EBay afterwards. I’m especially pleased as all proceeds will go to Kids Company, a charity that I have supported for a while.

The twist is that the identity of each T-shirt’s designer won’t be revealed til the auction finishes. (Although um, it might be quite easy to guess one or two…) The deadline for the finished tees to arrive is fast looming, so watch this space as I’ll be revealing all the names of the designers here…

There are also a zillion things happening in London on Fashion’s Night Out itself, which this year extends from W1 (hello Rupert Sanderson roller disco) to Knightsbridge to Covent Garden. Have you made plans yet?

Jofama X Edwin

Brand collaborations are the norm these days but boy do I cringe when some get it wrong! A great collaboration should make sense; the fit should be logical, not laboured and should retain the essence of both/all parties. Here’s a great example of a collaboration that works. Swedish leather brand Jofama has a long history in making aviator and biker jackets and has tapped Edwin to recreate one of its classics with an updated twist here and there. Said twists resulting in ‘The Airwoman’ jacket include a lush red silk lining, vintage rivets and a removable collar. Easy.
