Quote of the day
“I’m tired of the trends going from boho chic to rock and roll, boho chic to rock and roll, then hippie chic to punk chic … I love music, but I’m just tired of this superficial rock-and-roll thing in fashion. I think being transgressive today is being classical. To pretend to dress as a punk and take cocaine and have sex orgies has just become common now — there’s nothing transgressive about that. The fashion pages, like Purple magazine, are just a joke.”

Isn't the joy of fashion that you can wear a different look and channel a different side of yourself everyday if you like?very thin line between something being 'a joke' and it just being fun surely-can't fashion still be fun?!sometimes I like to dress up a bit rock and roll, but doesn't mean I'll end up snorting coke of a model's belly. Its just dressing up!x

Plinth, it's not about fashion being fun so much as it is about these looks turning into total and complete clichés. Sure, we all love to dress up but I don't really believe dressing up as a 'rock chick' or a punk chick is interesting or original. It's as formulaic as a suit and tie, in its own way.
