London Fashion week AW11: Orla Kiely


The film and presentation format seems to be working a treat for Orla Kiely. Her signature mid-sixties silhouettes – high waisted dresses, Peter Pan collars, school girl coats – were styled on a coterie of bouffant haired, Hitchcocky heroines and choreographed in a three-minute film by Mercedes Helnwein.

The films were show on a loop in wooden sheds surrounded by giant-sized photo shoots and spooky trees. Oh and champagne-laden trays of course.
