On my radar: Jacquemus art and crafts

Jacquemus is killing it on the accessory front fright now. His melodramatic straw hats are like nothing you’ve ever seen and his craftsy net and leather bags are both distinctive and timeless (as long as they don’t get copied to death). The sculpted heel shoes are strangely practical and a nice accompaniment to the neutral trousers, summer knits and barely-there tops in the current collection. I love how everything stems from recollections of his mother; his collections are a tribute to her and her relaxed summer style.

Breaking through into the mainstream is hard for a young designer but if there’s one surefire way to do it, it’s with accessories. Matchesfashion.com has quite a lot of the Jacquemus collection and there are some good reductions at the moment…
