DO: shoot in black and white, have a cool hair do and an expressive stare a la Dakota Fanning for V
DON’T: go for a mumsy bouffant, icky prom styling, nasty commercial lighting and a toothy grin a la Miley for Haper’s Bazaar

Liking Dakota's hair (piece? sorry not up-to-date with my teen icons!) – and that Harper's cover is so wrong! She looks like one of those mini beauty queens, yuck.

Wow…Dakota looks incredible, yet she doesn't look too grown up. Serious hair lust.

Agreed! The Bazaar cover is sad … I remember Linda Evangelista's "Enter the Era of Elegance" Bazaar cover. That was art.

miley cyrus looks so mumsy in that photo it's just wrong.

Not keen on the Harpers cover either, but it’s nice to see Miley in something other than sweaty looking leather hot pants

The simple fact of the matter is that Dakota is waaay classier than Miley and it shows.

I agree! They've aged Cyrus by about 10 years. She's very mainstream in every-which-way. Whereas Dakota, there you'll find some edgier potential. Great post Roller Girl x

Yuk to the Miley Cyrus cover – it just looks so cheap and nasty.

Why on earth would they choose Miley for Harper's? It makes no sense to me – surely it's the totally wrong market? God knows what they were thinking.

Dakota's photo reminds me of a young Goldie Hawn (in a good way).

Ok I love Dakota…her pose and the lighting is great…but I'm sorry, not feeling the hair…it's like someone's put some kind of long haired dog ontop of her head!
