Eat like O’Keeffe
I’m not much of a cook but boy do I love a cook book. This tribute to Georgia O’Keeffe by Robyn Lea (Assouline, £32) is both a feast for the eyes and the taste buds with rustic recipes and equally delicious images.
Dinner with Georgia O’Keeffe contains 50 of the artist’s favourite recipes; apparently she was an avid cook and ahead of the current ‘clean eating’ movement by 60-odd years. Author Robyn Lea researched O’Keeffe’s recipe collection and has added anecdotes and stories from those who knew her alongside some sublime photography. Obviously this was going to be a visually stunning book, it’s Assouline for one thing, and it’s about O’Keeffe for another. So the colours are as rich and spicy as the New Mexican landscape and the compositions as carefully arranged as O’Keeffe’s own paintings.
