Trend alert: Superheroic sleeves
There’s definitely a sleeve thing about to hit come September. So far the AW11 collections have been rife with bejewelled, knitted and furry sleeve details which make for warm arms but might pose something of a challenge when squeezing into your coat.
Prada’s SS11 small-waist-big-arm dress silhouette is catching on fast with Stella McCartney referencing it for her AW11 collection with sleeves of Incredible Hulk-like proportions on slim and waisted dresses. It looks weird now but will all make sense in 6 months time. I hope.

So glad I went for my new winter coat a size bigger to allow a few extra layers, hopefully will allow for bulky sleevage too! I always find dressing in winter so much more complicated as you have to make all of the layers work.

I love this show! and the superheroic sleeve, but I have to say I have a I. Marrant sweater from this winter’s collection, with a similar, yet understated superheroic sleeve, and it’s REALLY hard under coats… you definitely will need an oversized superheroic coat this winter!!
