JFK Jnr and Carolyn Bessette Kennedy
While searching online for mens runway pics as research for an article, I came across this GQ editorial by Carter Smith. It celebrates the classic American style of JFK Jnr, funny because I was just talking about him and Carolyn Bessette Kennedy to D yesterday.
Considering they were such an It couple for their short time together, it’s remarkable that you rarely hear any reference to them any more. Now the 90s minimalist revival is peeking through is it time to channel CBK again? Here’s some eye candy to whet your appetite…

She was elegant. Their plane crash happened while I was at people.com. I was away that day and was working on the website from afar — much less common in 1999 than it is now.

I always gobbled up photos of Carolyn–never classically pretty but always stunning (and I don’t mean that as an insult at all). She had a quality that made you keep looking.

Yeah, I always loved her classic style. When I worked on a bridal mag her wedding dress (slimline cowl-neck) was the number one copied style at the time… But that photo of them coming out of the candlelit chapel was quite lovely. I loved how she was clutching a posy of lily-of-the-valley. xx

I’ve read several articles about their relationship etc and for some reason it’s always made me tear up…

Interesting how she was painted as the nagging wife who made him fly and thereby doomed them both.
She had that ‘breeding’ that hooks you in on photos.

He was a total babe.
Did you see the Seinfeld episode where everyone joins a contest to see who can go the longest without, um, self-stimulating? Elaine had to drop out first because JFK Jr. appeared at her gym.
Who could blame her?

LOL Sister Wolf, you mean ‘the master of my domain’? Also the episode where George’s mum finds him ‘reading’ Glamour magazine… “But why were you reading GLAMOUR magazine?” Classic.

I am heartbroken over the tragic death of John. He was always a good person and cared about people. When he was a child, his Uncle Bobby was talking about the poverty in Harlem, and how cold the children were because the windows were broken. And John said, I’ll go work and make money to fix those windows. That touches my heart. Read, “The Other Man” by Michael Bergin if you want to know about Carolyn.
