Johnny Borrell is Burberryed up

Is Christopher Bailey a frustrated rock star? How else to explain his out-of-control obsession with Brit indie music? Why, even the hold music for Burberry HQ consists of warbling Bailey-approved Brit bands – talk about attention to detail.

From the look of this image of Johnny Borrell recording for Burberry, I’d say something’s definitely up – *gasp* – surely not a Burberry-sponsored stab at the Christmas number one? Say it ain’t so (although Borrell and Edie Campbell in a Burberry-wardrobed, Testino-directed video would be damn cute)…

London Calling: the movie

How exciting to discover there’s a film in the pipeline on the subject of one of the most influential bands ever – The Clash. Exciting but scary too. It could be as wonderful as Control, or it could be… a disaster. A bit like meeting your hero, or watching the film version of a book you have grown up with, all those high expectations could be met with bitter disappointment. However, the signs are promising so far. Former Clash members Mick Jones and Paul Simenon are on board as ‘executive producers and advisers’ so the story should be authentic and just think of all the unseen footage that must be lurking in Jones’ lockup. Now, we just need Don Letts to direct and we’re all set.

Quote of the day

“I feel like I have a responsibility to my community and other young girls to help redefine what it looks like to be a woman. I don’t believe in men’s wear or women’s wear, I just like what I like. And I think we should just be respected for being an individual… I’ve been in Vogue, now, and different publications, which is cool, because I think that it just shows a different perspective of how women can dress.”
