Jelly baby

I received these Jelly shoes from Aldo as a free gift. I’ve never worn jelly shoes before but you know what? I think I’m feeling these. River Island showed their high summer shoe collection this week and that too was big on jellies – gorgeous see-through candy colours – they will almost certainly be the shoe of the summer. In fact, I just remembered, I also saw some in the new Marc Jacobs shop last week. Can’t remember the specfics but yes, they were a goer!

Style Trial

Today is the launch of www.stylefinder.com. I don’t know, I’m getting a bit exausted by all this fashion and shopping mania (hmm, maybe I’m in the wrong job), it’s just relentless. I had a quick browse but will need to investigate further.

Primark vs New Look

Newsflash: Primark’s arrival in Marble Arch is imminent, as the store frontage is up and the battle looks set to commence between Primark and New Look. I’ll be interested to see how they battle it out. Pros and cons…

NEW LOOK
Good points – they have Giles and Lily Allen doing exclusives with them and their new Shoe Heaven range is a massive hit
– they are soon to start selling online
Bad points – merchandising leaves a lot to be desired and those weird trolley things – what the hell are they about?

PRIMARK
Good points – they are so stupidly cheap you can’t not buy something
Bad points – the stupidly cheap bubble is sure to burst as clearly, if it’s cheap it can’t be ethical
– queuing is traumatic to say the least and the mess…can it really be worth it?
-everyone and her granny will be shopping there

Hmm, New Look are winning so far, let’s see how it all pans out…

Wish bracelet

My Brazilian wish bracelet fell off on Thursday. I asked B what this means and she said it means the wishes are about to come true. Interesting, as I may have a book meeting next week and D and I are looking for a flat proper now. Question: Does the wish bracelet make the wishes come true or does seeing the bracelet remind you to work on making the wishes come true?
