Missoni madness
As much as I love my models, I do like a well-cast ad campaign of interesting non-model types too. Missoni has done something really charming and authentic with its SS11 campaign, hiring Juergen Teller to take portraits of the extended Missoni ‘family’ at The Museum of Everything*. Now that’s a stroke of genius. The amazingly clashy Missoni zigzags look perfectly at home set against the busily curated backdrop of the exhibits, don’t you think?
Margherita Missoni
Vittorio Missoni
Angela and Vittorio Jnr Missoni
Leighton Meester
Joan Burstein
Lola daughter-of-Juergen Teller (aw!)
To go with, Mel Bles has shot a suitably psychedelic video – these accompanying ad campaign vids are becoming quite the norm now aren’t they?
So far, this Missoni campaign is one of my favourites along with Mulberry and Balenciaga (yes actually, I do like Giselle’s wonky wig). But the Missoni collection itself is a beauty too…
*The Museum of Everything has extended its opening til the beginning of Feb. I haven’t been yet but am definitely planning to. If you don’t know what it is, you can read up about it here. (PS, you should go.)
