My view on leggings (except when used for sport) is a big NAY. I don’t approve of people wearing leggings at all, let alone as trousers, without a suitable covering of the bum.
26 November, 2008 @ 4:47 pm
nay… nay nay.. ;o)
26 November, 2008 @ 5:18 pm
Big NAY
26 November, 2008 @ 5:38 pm
I love how the legging did a 180 and tried to be a jean. Hilarious!
26 November, 2008 @ 5:46 pm
I veto the idea of them. Although they’re the perfect “Thanksgiving” pants since they have so much give.
26 November, 2008 @ 6:39 pm
These are really popular in Asia! I’ve noticed the thinner version for sale in Hong Kong but we bought some stretch-denim pairs in Korea. They were actually super comfortable and warm.
26 November, 2008 @ 7:00 pm
I like the Patti Smith t-shirt, the thing is I’ve never been into buying band tees in high street stores.
26 November, 2008 @ 7:26 pm
Hehe – the legging that think it’s a jean. A tad predictable but I’m a nay.
Loving your press day round-ups.
xx
26 November, 2008 @ 7:31 pm
Given that I’m going to be relying on you for my trend and fash info as I no longer have a moment to spare I’m relying on your judgement and saying nay! Truly it is a big nay!
27 November, 2008 @ 1:57 am
I love them! yay yay yay all the way!
27 November, 2008 @ 4:06 am
They look very convincingly like jeans.
27 November, 2008 @ 1:40 pm
The elasticated waists really don’t do it for me. They do have some leggings that look like very skinny jeans in ASOS (minus the elasticated waist) that I considered getting. They are slightly more interesting than normal leggings but should still be worn with a long top/ tunic/ dress (I think)
27 November, 2008 @ 5:49 pm
NAY!
27 November, 2008 @ 6:57 pm
What does the horse say? Naaaaaaaaaay.
27 November, 2008 @ 7:04 pm
If the leggings look like jeans, then maybe. But I think I’d just go for tight jeans!
Interesting take on the ‘treggings’ idea.
28 November, 2008 @ 5:47 am
HIDEOUS!! Almost assaultive in their hideousnes. Make them go away, please.
28 November, 2008 @ 6:48 am
please no! dont wear these unless you are a supermodel or something otherwise you will just look bad
29 November, 2008 @ 1:50 am
Anyone else think that they mostly look like granny pants?
30 November, 2008 @ 1:51 am
eeek just wear jeans!!
1 December, 2008 @ 5:24 am
yeah… this was popular in asia like two years ago.. and highwaisted became popular here after it died out in asia
hm…
1 December, 2008 @ 1:45 pm
I’m indifferent…they’re nothing new nor are they shocking…. not sure why they would get such a big nay here…. it’s like a nicer version of trackie bottoms…
1 December, 2008 @ 4:44 pm
They remind me of the early 80’s and are strangly so hideous that I love them. Sorry it is a yay from me!
1 December, 2008 @ 9:12 pm
The world’s biggest NAY.
2 December, 2008 @ 1:48 am
nay on the pants leggings. oh man never thought they’d stoop so low. haven’t been in a UO in so long.
2 December, 2008 @ 1:59 am
Denim Leggings for me is nay, but who knows, they might look cool on! I love the tees and the shades..
2 December, 2008 @ 2:58 am
I thought they were jeans at a first glance! Lol. To each his own I guess.
2 December, 2008 @ 8:09 pm
When I was in London last February I tried on April 77 jeans and I could not for love nor money squish my arse into those jeans! But then you’re a teeny wee slip of a thing.
Denim-look leggings – odd and perhaps more offensive because they always opt for the hideous stonewash pattern, which is dreadful on real jeans never mind pretend ones.
11 December, 2008 @ 9:01 pm
a big yay!!!! american apparels version are amazing…. im sick of sewing myself into jeans to make then as tight as poss now u dont have to. great!! some people look ace in leggings some dont just one of them things… doesnt mean we have to banish leggings because of the people that dont… hahah and for the people that are saying just wear jeans??? if ure into skinnys that are ermmm skinny then sitting in stiff tight jeans all day isnt that comfortable… and i dont want to suffer for my fashion haha
22 December, 2008 @ 8:12 am
I have some in blue, white and tan, from a few years ago, made in Brazil. They don’t have elastic waists and they look just like low rise jeans, super tight and super comfortable. I think the elastic waists and denim washes look a little tacky though.
13 April, 2009 @ 4:33 pm
eek-ster! no way. my thighs have already been snubbed by skinny jeans. the last thing i need is a double taunt from a denim leggings variety.
10 August, 2009 @ 9:12 pm
Totally Yes, i have two pairs, both looking like normal skinny jeans but without the movement restriction that normal jeans have. Kate Moss and Rihanna have been seen wearing them. It was also in the July additon of Vogue. So, a big YAY for me!
