One more thing…
While I’m on the subject of M&S, I must also flag up their new lingerie. I have always wondered why control underwear has to look so surgical. Surely a bit of lace – even as a print – could be somehow incorporated in the design? Well this time M&S has nailed it. Their lingerie preview showed a fair amount of the usual sexy-pretty fare that everyone does quite well now including some fabby big-size bras. What was really impressive was the Body Solutions range, especially the all-in-ones with sheer, lace and satin panels that streamline your shape while giving you a bit of Sophia Loren classy vampiness. The only caveat? You have to buy it in black rather than the passion-killing beige.

They may look good, but as someone who has endured this particular range of ‘hold it all in’ underwear I can speak from first hand experience and say it is really uncomfortable to wear for two reasons
1. The area around the fastenings is really badly finished, with no thought as to comfort. Just a nasty over sewn rigid piece of fabric. ouch
2. Those bloody detachable straps are the bane of my life. Badly positioned and without them gravity does its worst.
I love the idea of this type of underwear, but the buyers/designers should talk to some women of a certain size before inflicting such shoddy workmanship on us.

Oh really? That’s a shame. Interesting feedback, maybe I’ll mention it to them…
