ZANINI LEAVES HALSTON OVER BRAND IDENTITY SAY SOURCES
Italian designer Marco Zanini has left Halston after a year as creative director for the fashion house. The designer was appointed by Hilco Consumer Capital, which had bought the brand some months earlier in partnership with LLC and The Weinstein Co.
According to sources at MFF, he resigned over differences regarding the planned aesthetic identity of the brand. Zanini had previously worked in the style offices of Versace, Dolce & Gabbana and Lawrence Steele and made his runway debut with the new-look Halston during New York Fashion Week last February. He will not be putting his name to the brand collection due to be launched in September.
Holy shit, what a nightmare! First Biba, now this, are these revival brands jinxed or what? it’s a shame because I really like what he did for the first collection. So what happens now?

Well, that was short-lived. They’ll have to poach someone else, I guess. Fingers crossed it’s a good choice, and that they get themselves straightened out!

I’m not surprised at all, but I also didn’t really like his collection.
