Bad news
I have some rather bad news, so I hope you’re sitting down. *Deep breath.*
There’s no easy way of saying this… but there is a very real chance of the *wince* ski pant becoming a key fashion item. Its casual cousin, the stirrup legging has already been inching its way into our wardrobes and now, thanks to a nostalgic nod towards sixties classics, the tailored ski pant has been spotted at the AW10 press days – namely on the rails of COS and MaxMara – and on the Stella McCartney runway. With the pointy kitten heel now a dead cert for AW10, we will no doubt see endless shoots of Bardot-esque babes encased in ski pants and clingy mohair tops, with backcombed barnets and eyelinered to the max, posing in the glossies. And then non-models will try to emulate them. Gulp.
I know it’s a shock to the system and that it will take some getting used to but remember, it won’t be forever. Give it a season and things will be back to normal. I hope.

God you scared me,I thought you were gonna say you were giving up Blogging or something! Ski Pants turned out to be a bit of a relief and although they look crap on a hanger, they do look good in those runway pics!

I have to say I once had a pair of really lovely (don't laugh)silver lame ski pants from Nicole Farhi. This was the late eighties but I loved them they were so floppy yet very flattering.
To be honset I am so tired of being confronted by 'camel toes' it maybe a blessed relief!

I seem to remember a moment of ski pants for women in the 80's – at least in NYC.

This is awesome news, for I have always endeavoured to have my ankles look disproportionately chunky. I enjoy the gentle tree trunk look that ski pants afford me. Bring 'em on!

those things remind me of what the dinner ladies at my primary school wore…a few can rock it, most can't. also i was going to do some bardot smokey eyes tomorrow…maybe not then!

some things are best left alone and should stay on the catwalk. I for one will not be partaking in ski pant wearing next season. I didn't follow peg legs, carrot tops, harem pants x

Remember how you and I laughed at "the clog" and how we both came around to the idea; finally admitting defeat in that we liked the aforementioned footwear? Do you think the pant of ski will go full circle for us? Hatred to loathing to disdain to…god forbid….like? It happened with the dutch tap shoes, it could easily happen again. I can already see it – you and I wondering down the King's Road in pumps and stirrup pants! Give it a year, I'll probably be hooked ;]

O.M.G they were my childhood nightmare, used to wear them (forced my by parents) at school, probably the most disgusting pair of bottoms I ever wore in my life time.

These pants were called stir-up pants not ski pants back in the day. There are ski pants that are stretchy and fitted but are made of insulating, waterproof materials that if you wore than just on the street, you would be sweating your tush off.

Sorry – hate to say it but I actually love Ski pants – in the 80's I used to wear ski pants with my reversible care bear sweat shirt – I still to this day, wish I still had that outfit!
