A cape to covet
Summer’s not over yet (although it might as well be) but the new collections are flooding in so of course I’m going to get excited about them. A few days ago I was interviewed for a book on bloggers and was asked a question about my must-haves for autumn-winter. After the Isabel Marant ankle boots I saw at Merci in Paris, and the entire Sonia by Sonia Rykiel collection that has just landed at My-wardrobe.com, the only thing I could think of was something that doesn’t exist. Or does it? I’m hankering after a knee-length gold sequin cape – or chain mail at a push. Something dramatic and luxurious that would work as an entrance-making evening coat. Let’s be clear, I’m not talking about a namby pamby Primark flammable capelet sprinkled with a few cursory gold-coloured beads, but something substantially fabulous that weighs a ton – something Patrick Wolf might wear.

I Bought a cape 4 years ago from Oasis, Its pretty classic, textured wool and black and I still love it so will be wearing it again this winter. I also sold a military on ebay a couple of year back…regretting it now!

A gold chainmail cape would be utterly fabulous. Maybe vintage is the answer? it's the sort of thing you could vaguely look for for years and then finally find one!!
I like the navy one though, as a more daytime option.

both! i love the asos cape, anything with ruffles or draping at the back always gets my vote because it feels like youre leaving fabulousness in your wake! there must be a sequin cape on ebay one day, maybe save the search and get emails if anything is listed?

I am a cape lover!
This duffle cape is great would look brilliant in my collection.
I also happen to make capes, had cape town at Bestival last year, the sparkle capes are great for spinning at a festival, the new rave fleece cape and my brilliant tiger cape is pretty special too and the gold leather feather cape, A Flying Goffey Brother wore at Glastonbury is by far my greatest piece!
However your imagined gold chain mail cape sounds amazing, may make one…
I'll let you know how it goes. x
