Hmmm, I was recently asked if I'd cut my hair myself, but I'd been to the hairdressers only a few days previously. Must have been a damned good haircut then?

I thoroughly agree.
In fact, although some people take a rain hood, sometimes I actively look for some light drizzle on leaving the salon. It makes me look less done and more like the slightly dishevelled individual that I really am.

Oh my gosd I so agree. Hairdressers either blow dry my hair so straight I look like I'm wearing a wig or they cut it into this odd poofy shape that makes me look like a 50-year-old pearl necklace wearing Hampton's vacationing housewife.

I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to actually do the cutting myself, but I NEVER like how they style my hair. It's always too bouncy, in a weird way. I much prefer my almost negligent form of messy styling :)

Right on JB! I've taken a break from lining my hairdresser's pockets with gold. Gave myself a jaw-length bob and fringe and have switched from blond highlights to matchstick red!
Never had so many positive comments when I was spending up big! tee hee!!!

I like my hair when it's had a big blow dry, and the only hairdresser ever to be able to do this properly went AWOL 'under a cloud of bad feeling' (according to the salon owner) – I have attempted two hairdressers since then. The first butchered me, and the second did something with a diffuser and I left the salon looking like I'd got up late and not had time to blowdry my hair! I just dispair and totally agree with your quote – all it takes in one home-wash and all balance is restored.

I totally agree on the latter part- I never like me hair when it's been cut till I wash it myself. I guess that ruins the point of getting it professionally blow-dryed but the final product just doesn't appeal!
