Pop-up Chanel sale alert!
How on earth did I forget to post this? Silly me. Ah well, yesterday I was given a whirlwind tour of some of Store PR’s clients including the fabulous boutique D & Me in Brompton Road. As we arrived, the staff were busy putting finishing touches to their ‘homage to Chanel’, a meticulous assemblage in one of their display cabinets consisting of a rather tasty array of vintage Chanel handbags, belts and similarly chi-chi accessories. It’s a pop-up display, meaning everything’s probably been snapped up by now but there might be a few gems left so mosey on over if you’re in the area.
Alongside the Chanel are lovely one-off reworked vintage goodies by owner Marcelle Symons’ Mamie label, vintage designer sunnies by Retrosun and these straight-off-the-Matthew-Williamson-Pantone-chart Essie nail colours. Plus, I couldn’t resist this sign – pure genius.
Upstairs was more treasure in the One boutique. Talk about vintage heaven, this is where Symons’ seamstresses work their magic on vintage dresses, capes, head-dresses, you-name-it, to tailor them to customers’ requirements and give them a new lease of life. We spent a good half hour trying things on, including this flock and fur jacket – jaw-dropping doesn’t even begin to describe it.
The One boutique is by appointment only (020 7589 2728) but it’s definitely worth a visit just for the wow factor.

The sign made me feel happy, but the jacket made me feel The Pain of Not Having.

Loved that blackboard sign!
If I ever get married it will have to be to someone who gives permission for such spending sprees! But only if they have the wallet to support it!
