When cameras go crazy
To the Laura Lees show yesterday, where I waited for too long with my colleagues in the lobby of Baden Powell House. While we were talking, colleague S was approached by a lady with a camera asking if she could take her photo for Lucky Magazine. S was pleased as punch as she was wearing her special LFW outfit consisting of various London designer pieces artfully arranged to catch the eye. After the impromptu portrait shoot, we carried on talking until colleague B was approached by the same photographer. She too obliged. Needless to say, I was not approached. But of course that was fine; I didn’t want my picture taken! Which made me wonder; why do people dress up for fashion week? I can understand celebs doing it as they’re clearly there to have their photo taken, but if your job is to report on the shows, you don’t need to be all zhuzhed up. That’s the models’ job, no?
