Tom Ford’s new hero product and a novel use for old beauty boxes

When it comes to beauty products I’m as swayed by the packaging as I am by the performance of the product. Tom Ford’s packaging is the best (and most expensive) in the business, with lipsticks clocking in at £36. Alas, I’m more of a sheer lip stain girl, so I haven’t had reason to indulge in the highly pigmented Ford lippies but here’s something I will entertain. Tom Ford’s new Lip and Cheek Stain in Tainted Love is a sheer berry-tinted creamy stick that comes in a phallic rounded bullet to blend onto cheeks or dab onto lips. I’ve only tested it on the back of my hand but that’s enough to convince me to splurge. It arrives on Tom Ford Private Blend counters from September.

In other news, how mad cool are these embroidered beauty boxes featured on Into The Gloss? French artist Kelly Favre painstakingly embroiders the boxes from luxury fragrance and makeup packages, spending up to fours days on each one. Why? Who knows but the results are dead cute…
