Tom Ford’s luxe beauty essentials
Tom Ford Beauty launches are always a pleasure. But aside from the posh location and lavish nibbles, it’s the products that really deliver. For autumn, the hero product is the Traceless Perfecting Foundation (£62) which comes in fifteen shades. Its big claim is to deliver a humidity-resistant matte finish so you shouldn’t need more than a cursory touch-up.
For me though, the standouts are the eye quad palette and the Correcting Pen. First the eye quad in Nude Dip. The dark taupe here is just perfect for a sexy neutral eye. You can blend it with any of the three accompanying shades and the textures are beautifully creamy with a hint of iridescence. They can be used dry or wet for deeper intensity. An extremely flattering and versatile quad if ever there was one.
I love how Tom Ford Beauty products are super-luxe but all about the practicalities (that’s the die-hard Virgo for you). The Correcting Pen (£34) is one if those what-did-we-do-before problem-solvers. It’s a double-ended pen with a rounded under-eye colour corrector on one end and a finer tipped yellow-based concealer on the other. The color corrector is for using under your base to brighten under the eyes, with the concealer used under the foundation or on top if you need extra concealing powers. You can also use this ultra-thin stick to help shape brows.
