Love Éadaoin Ní Drisceoil‘s graduate collection, which I discovered on Instagram. Based on the Virgin Suicides, it picks up on the ‘obsessions and passions that consume girls throughout the turbulent years of adolescence’. Translation: awkward layers, odd proportions and mismatched fabrics, not to mention ill at ease styling and an unhealthy fixation with pink. (more…)



Zara embraces tastemakers with social commerce campaign

The latest retailer to tap tastemakers’ own style to showcase its wares is Zara. On its site under ‘Pictures‘ is a Tumblr-style cascade of lovely lifestyle images featuring Yasmin Sewell, Cate Underwood, Caroline De Maigret and Sofia Sanchez Barrenechea. Pinterest for London Fashion Week

Today is the unofficial first day of London Fashion Week (seriously, what’s with all the pre-LFW action?) and also the first day of Pinterest’s LFW campaign.

As part of its international Fashion Month spotlight, it has partnered with designers, retailers, editors and influencers to get Fashion Week inspiration trending throughout the boards.

Go to Pinterest/Fashionweek to see all the pins aggregated under one umbrella or go to individual boards for a more personal point of view.

My board is called London Fashion Week Scrapbook and is a mix of as-I-see-it Fashion Week action and emerging trends. I’m using it both as a research tool and a fun blog extension. (more…)
