Hermes is showing its latest Hermes Editeur scarf collaboration with Hiroshi Sugimoto at Art Basel til tomorrow. The silk scarves of Sugimoto’s Polaroids are a lesson in pure colour that Hermes has produced using a new inkjet printing method. You can see the whole range of scarves on the Hermes Editeur site (the behind-the-scenes photos are quite something), alongside the previous collaboration with Josef Albers. In fact, Sugimoto and Albers complement each other quite beautifully…

Something for the weekend: Hermes Leather Forever exhibition



If you’re at a loose end this weekend (or any time between now and 27th May), get yourself down to 6 Burlington Gardens for the delight that is Hermes’ free Leather Forever exhibition. Created to give the public a closer look at the artisanal craft behind the luxury bags and leathergoods and to ‘show the depth and breadth of the brand’, it’s an hour of unadulterated sensory heaven. Shop report: Hermes Paris flagship



Part of my recent trip to Paris with Hermes involved a visit to the new(ish) flagship store. Situated in a former 1930s swimming pool, it felt tres strange to be standing on the floor of the pool surrounded by original tiles! The store is vast and includes a cafe, a florist, a bookshop and lots of home wares. (more…)
