Cartier watches are everywhere at the moment. In this fab Sofia Coppola ad for the revived Cartier Panthere, in a new exhibition at The Design Museum (more info to come) and in a Christie’s sale happening in New York in a couple of weeks.

This gold Cartier Tank was a gift to Jackie Kennedy by her brother-in-law, Prince Stanislaw Radziwill in February 1963. (more…)

The French may have Charvet, but we have Turnbull & Asser. In matters of sartorial excellence, a bespoke shirt has to be one of life’s great not-so-little luxuries. So in the name of research, I took up the offer of trying out the service.

Shirts factor big in my book, The New Garconne: How to be a Modern Gentlewoman and they’re also enjoying a major fashion spotlight moment, especially those of gargantuan, deconstructed proportions. And yet here’s a fascinating fact: only about 1% of Turnbull & Asser bespoke shirts are made for women. (more…)

The gorgeous Grechen of Grechen’s Closet wrote the most complimentary book review ever of The New Garconne (thank you Grechen) and in the process alerted me to Everlane’s ‘Modern Penny Loafer’.
