So Marc Jacobs Beauty arrived in London a couple of weeks ago and no one knew. Not even British Beauty Blogger! I stumbled upon the entire range of it in the Marc Jacobs Mount Street store (after a quick recce of Celine – retail heaven). It’s not cheap but the colours are stunning and the lipstick packaging is right up there with Chanel’s push-click cases. The staff are super helpful and encourage you to try the products, but I haven’t yet. I definitely will soon though… (more…)

Done well, Sephora’s shopping platform could be a gamechanger. Launched two weeks ago, its new Beauty Board is a Pinterest-esque gallery of user-generated photos, which customers engage with, posting reviews, comments and tips. It’s what beauty forums do best, but this adds an all-important shoppable component and the ability to share widely on other platforms. With mobile’s increasing importance in syncing content with commerce, I imagine we’ll be seeing a lot more brands attempting similar feats. Read more here. (more…)

For any last minute holiday-goers, can I recommend some great travel-friendly fragrances? Cult Beauty alerted me to Le Soft Perfume (£19), a lightweight solid perfume in the prettiest recycled packaging from the ex co-founder of Sephora. As well as delicious scents (I’m wearing La Reine Soleil right now), these stick fragrances nourish, moisturise, firm and restore the skin.  Using all-natural Shea butter, mango butter and tamanu oils, they’re well suited to sensitive skins.
