EXCLUSIVE: Who is the secret Chanel tweeter @CC_Linlithgow?

On Tuesday night, coming home from a dinner, I was gripped by the tweets about Chanel’s Metiers d’Art show in Linlithgow, Edinburgh. So many of my Twitter followees were at the show, retweeting tweets from what I assumed was the official Chanel @CC_Linlithgow account. It certainly looked official from what I saw when I logged onto Twitter at home. This ten-day-old Twitter account had aggregated hundreds of Instagrams, Twitpics and nuggets of as-it-happens commentary from the models, press and guests at the show. But as I scrolled through the images, a story unfurled further back to include the entire ten-day build-up to the event, including atmospheric photos of the palace grounds and romantic Linlinthgow scenery. Chanel’s Métiers d’Art Linlithgow collection tweets up a storm

Chanel, Scotland, tartan, kilts, twinsets… what’s not to love in the latest Chanel Métiers d’Art show at Linlithgow Palace in Edinburgh? I’ll admit I have a love-hate relationship with Chanel RTW but this ticked most of my ‘love’ boxes. In particular, Stella Tennant in the ultimate luxe twinset and Edie Campbell in argyle-patterned tights and plaid tam-o-shanter, not to mention Sam Mcknight’s phenomenal Elizabethan hair dos. SS13 trend report: Chanel accessories

Chanel’s ready to wear doesn’t always do it for me but the accessories are a different story altogether. SS13’s surpass themelves – these Lego-esque Boy Brick box clutches are future collectibles, while the triple-strapped shoes have the right mix of fabulosity and femininity. And my favourite piece of jewellery is this huge ‘pearl’ bangle which fastens with a powerful magnet. Wonderful, no?

Press preview: Chanel Little Black Jacket by Karl Lagerfeld

Just sharing my favourite photos from Karl Lagerfeld’s Little Black Jacket exhibition, which opened at the Saatchi Gallery today (I went to the preview yesterday). I really didn’t have high hopes for this so I was shocked at how much I loved it. The casting is wonderful, as is Carine Roitfeld’s styling. Karl has truly managed to capture the style and personality of each of his sitters. And the gigantic prints (by Steidl) are nicely displayed, gently pinned to the wall. The exhibition is huge and you can even take away a free poster with you. So much nicer than flooding the shop with tacky merch, no?

The exhibition is on from now until 28th October and you can buy the accompanying book there too (it’s a lot cheaper than in the shops).

*SPOILER ALERT* Don’t look down if you don’t want to see (top to bottom) Ines de La Fressange, Frankie Rayder, Jane Birkin, Lauren Hutton, Linda Evangelista, Sojourner Morrell, Alexa Chung, Sofia Coppola, Sing Hye-Kyo, Kirsten Owen and Lily Donaldson… (more…)
