Tracey Emin’s love letter to New York

What an amazing digital art exhibition! I’ve just discovered Tracey Emin’s ‘I Promise To Love You’ display, which runs in New York’s Times Square throughout February. A display of her neon artworks on Times Square’s billboards, it’s part of the “Midnight Moment”, a presentation of the Times Square Advertising Coalition (TSAC) and Times Square Arts. (more…)

Juergen Teller at the ICA plus some other 2013 exhibitions to diarise

Opening today at the ICA is Juergen Teller’s ‘Woo’ exhibition. I’m desperate to see it, in particular his landscapes that I’ve only recently discovered. Menswear focus: stylish Londoners get suited and booted at Burberry, Alexander McQueen and Selfridges

Robert Rauschenberg on rollerskates

Robert Rauschenberg rollerskates Pelican performance piece

Things I didn’t know about Robert Rauschenberg: In 1963, he choreographed a performance piece called Pelican. And rollerskated in it. With a parachute on his back. Pelican was a tribute to the Wright Brothers (Rauschenberg’s heroes) and took part at the America on Wheels roller rink as part of a festival by The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. There’s even a video of it. Isn’t it bonkers fabulous?
