London Calling: the movie
How exciting to discover there’s a film in the pipeline on the subject of one of the most influential bands ever – The Clash. Exciting but scary too. It could be as wonderful as Control, or it could be… a disaster. A bit like meeting your hero, or watching the film version of a book you have grown up with, all those high expectations could be met with bitter disappointment. However, the signs are promising so far. Former Clash members Mick Jones and Paul Simenon are on board as ‘executive producers and advisers’ so the story should be authentic and just think of all the unseen footage that must be lurking in Jones’ lockup. Now, we just need Don Letts to direct and we’re all set.

ohhhh all these films in the pipeline make me so nervous – you're right about it potentially being like meeting your idol. The Great Gatsby, for example, makes me so anxious that someone will shit all over my favourite book in the whole world. Here's hoping it will do The Clash justice… x

Very excited about this, The Clash are my favourite band, ever! Met them once when I was a student and though it's still a fantastic story (won't bore you with it now) you're absolutely right, there's something disappointing about meeting your heroes.

Crossing my fingers that it's good. I loved Control — sad it didn't get more recognition.
