Firenze4Ever Part 3: Ready, steady, shoot!

A bit like a fashiony take on Ready Steady Cook, the concept of the Firenze4Ever Style Lab is you get given your ingredients – the team (model Seo, photographer Gianluca, assistant Carlotta) plus a delicious spread of the AW11 collections for you to whizz up a (hopefully) delicious, sartorial concoction. Against the clock, you prep, style and art direct your shoot before editing down to a final selection.

After an hour or so sorting out hair and make-up and trying outfits on Seo (to save faffing about later), we headed off in a cab to our location. I decided to shoot in a garden environment as I knew I wanted to use strong colours and the weather was beautiful. I chose to put Seo in a mix of menswear and womenswear, which worked a treat with the electric palette of Jil Sander AW11 menswear. I did also consider a mannish fur coat but my kinder side conceded this might tip Seo over the edge in the midday 30° heat.

THE RESULTS

Men’s shirt by Brooks Brothers, NECKLACE by Ioselliani, CARDIGAN by Annapurna, MEN’S TROUSERS by Jil Sander, BOOTS by Elena Iachi

MEN’S SWEATER by Jil Sander, TROUSERS by Metradamo, SUNGLASSES by Mojo-Risin, WATCH bu John Galliano, RING by Ioselliani, BOOTS by Marc by Marc Jacobs

MEN’S COAT by Claudio Tonello, MEN’S T-SHIRT by Burberry Prorsum, SKIRT by Fausto Puglisi, BOOTS by Marc by Marc Jacobs, BAG by Mulberry

Fausto Puglisi was a new name for me but I love his Jeff Koons inspired palette. (He is also stocked in Via Spiga 2, Dolce & Gabbana’s concept store for emerging designers). I put his candy pink sculptural skirt with Claudio Tonello’s cardigan-soft men’s coat and a Burberry men’s T-shirt with crystal-encrusted pocket – a lovely, harmonious mix of masculine and feminine elements!
