Yay or nay: 90’s feather cut
Just spotted this image of model Sara Blomqvist in The Gentlewoman magazine. I’m not at the cutting my own hair stage yet, but I’ve been hankering for a change on the coiff front. I like this soft messy cut.
When this cut emerged in the 90s I hated it as it was a throwback to the 70s. (If you lived it the first time, etc…) But the 90s take was minimalist and a bit grungy. Adding it to my Pinterest short hair board while I continue to ponder and grow my fringe….

Yeah, she’s a gorgeous girl…. but this haircut really made her stand out for me. It’s fabulous. If I didn’t have a head full of coiled curls (like Lianne La Havas) I’d definitely give it a try. Anna Gimeno Brugada has a longer version of this (maybe a bit less chunky) and I have loved it for a while.
It’s a “yay” for me. You can always buzz it off if you hate it!
Stay safe. Stay positive! (said the pessimist!)

I tried it, but my hair is too fine – looks awful, haha. So back to letting it grow and get a cleaner cut again… It is hard to foresee, how your hair will behave, I think. Maybe a good hairdresser will know… mine didn’t. It would definitely suit you though.

Happy happy. I’ve just had a look at your Pinterest shorthair board.
You have managed to capture every short hair style I’ve ever loved.
Been looking for ages for inspiration and now I’m spoilt for choice.
What a groovy fabulous collection.
Thank you

Seconding Ava! I’ve had short hair for a long time and this cut would really depend on your hair’s own texture as well as your bone structure. I saved the pic that you posted from one of Dries van Noten’s runway shows and plan to show that version to my stylist.
I took a look at your board as well. Did Linda Evangelista ever look less than fabulous with short hair?!

Thanks Kim! Agree, I think my hair might be too thick for this. I like the Evangelista heavy fringe wedge-esque cut too. The saga continues!
