Every year Mr DRG and I talk about going to St Ives and I’ve still never been. Oh well, this summer St Ives (kind of) comes to us with Tate Britain’s new exhibition, Barbara Hepworth: Sculpture for a Modern World. It seems everyone is jumping on the unisex/androgyny/ambi-sex bandwagon lately, but one of the brands that does it best is Paul Smith. Perhaps it’s not immediately obvious, I just think his menswear – the colours, shapes, prints – swings both ways. (more…)
Jonathan Anderson’s new-look Loewe has has rave reviews so far, with its reworked logo, ad campaign and SS15 menswear all giddily received by the critics. For spring-summer 2015, Anderson’s inspiration came from pre-rave Ibiza references so it’s heavy on rustic-looking but luxurious fabrics and simple, bohemian shapes (given Anderson’s ultra-modern ambi-sexual treatment).
