Coming soon: Uniqlo X Olympia Le-Tan

Uniqlo X Olympia Le-Tan

There’s something about the French Uniqlo collabs that really hit the mark for me. The Ines de la Fressange collections are consistently good and the Lemaire ones have some great knitwear and bold colour pieces. Just arrived at Colette is a Uniqlo X Olympia Le-Tan collaboration which should be landing soon in international Uniqlo stores.

As well as printed T-shirts, there’s also a tote that’s printed and embroidered in homage to Le-Tan’s signature embroidered milk carton bags. Some of the embroidery has been carried out by displaced women in Malaysia and Afghanistan as part of Uniqlo’s tie-in with UNHCR, the U.N.’s refugee agency.

“We first starting working on T-shirts and then someone who specifically works in that division at Uniqlo asked me to participate in the program. I asked for it to support women specifically and selected a few geographical regions that are good with embroidery,” says Le-Tan.

As well as the tote, my favourite is the book printed tee. Look out for the limited edition Uniqlo X Olympia Le-Tan line coming to 17 countries, including France, Belgium, Russia, Japan, South Korea, the UK and Germany.

1. JUST BURBERRY

Burberry Christmas ad campaign

I got to attend the unveiling of the new Burberry Christmas ad in the Regent Street flagship on Tuesday and as expected, it was fun, stylish and very British. And it totally made me want to see Billy Elliot. The celeb-filled event completely overshadowed the week’s other Burberry news, that the brand is consolidating all its sub-brands under one big Burberry-checked umbrella. So no more Burberry Brit, London or Prorsum – just ‘Burberry’ (which is what we all called it anyway). (more…)

1. EBAY VALET IS HERE

EBAY and GARANCE DORE launch Ebay Valet

It seems everyone’s trying to crack the luxury fashion resale nut. In the same week that UK-based Covetique closed, eBay extended its eBay Valet service to include high end fashion (helped by Garance Dore, above). eBay Valet is the service that allows you to box up your fashion rejects and let someone else take care of the listing.
