Call me old fashioned but I do love it when Chanel reverts to basics. Tuesday’s Chanel Paris Cosmopolite Métiers d’art collection 2016/17 was held at the reopened Ritz in Place Vendome (Coco Chanel famously had her apartment here) and was themed around the luxury of 1930s hotels.

Quirky touches I loved included the heavily embellished key jewellery and the ‘do not disturb’ bag. But I also liked the genteel make-up with pale eyelids, dark nails and a casual soft red lip that anyone can wear…

Chanel’s Métiers d’Art Linlithgow collection tweets up a storm



Chanel, Scotland, tartan, kilts, twinsets… what’s not to love in the latest Chanel Métiers d’Art show at Linlithgow Palace in Edinburgh? I’ll admit I have a love-hate relationship with Chanel RTW but this ticked most of my ‘love’ boxes. In particular, Stella Tennant in the ultimate luxe twinset and Edie Campbell in argyle-patterned tights and plaid tam-o-shanter, not to mention Sam Mcknight’s phenomenal Elizabethan hair dos. (more…)
